AWS Cloud Clubs are student-focused, peer-driven user groups for post-secondary-level students worldwide. Run by Cloud Club Captains across the globe. The mission is to help more students expand their career options, increase their technical social circles, and discover ways to engage with AWS as a technical platform.

Amazon Web Services(AWS) is a cloud computing platform which aims to provide low cost and on the go services to its customer. It includes a mixture of infrastructure-as-a-service(IaaS), platform-as-a-service(PaaS) and packaged-software-as-a-service(SaaS) offerrings. It has over 200 fully featured services from data centres globally.

The core team of the AWS Club was introduced, comprising members with expertise in cloud computing, management, technical skills, and media.Various benefits were highlighted for students, including AWS certification vouchers, exclusive experiences with AWS, speaking opportunities, career-related workshops, and access to resources and fundingThe club aims to help students in upskilling and preparing for future careers in cloud computing.Cloud computing was emphasized as an in-demand skill that students can develop through the club.Opportunities for networking with industry experts and peers were provided.

Hands-on practical labs were organized for captains and members to learn AWS.The guest speaker shared their experience studying and researching security, particularly in the context of IoT.They discussed a project they worked on during an interview, highlighting the importance of cloud computing in it.

The orientation session provided an introduction to cloud computing, explaining it as the delivery of computing resources over the internet instead of relying on physical hardware.The benefits of cloud computing were discussed, including scalability, cost efficiency, accessibility, flexibility, reliability, security, and ease of management

A guest speaker, Mr. Gaurav Garg, a technical account manager at AWS, joined the session. The speaker discussed the power and ubiquity of cloud computing, comparing it to electricity as a common utility enabling a wide range of applications. Examples of food aggregators, ride-sharing apps, and pharmaceutical ordering services were given to illustrate the ease and global reach provided by cloud computing.
